The City of Swan - in the beautifule Swan Valley in WA - wished to automate the labour-intensive Quaterly business plan reporting.

After evaluation of all offerings from the market, the City selected the Corporate Information Database from CSS.

The City of Swan wished to automate the extensive business planning process that was being managed manually using a series of spreadsheets, databases and standalone systems.

CID has been implemented for the following key business processes:

  • City Plan
  • Business Plans for all Business Units
  • City Plan
  • Business Planning for all Business Units
  • Risk Management Plans for all Business Units
  • Place Plan Management and Development
  • Capital Works Monitoring
  • Business Case Management for all business cases including operating initiatives, capital initiatiaves and FTE requests
  • Extensive reporting improvements to meet existing and planned business reporting

In addition, the CID Data Warehouse was seen as the perfect solution for integrating data from Councils various core business systems for reporting. Utilising SQL/Server Integration Services (SSIS), CSS and Council have worked together in the development of an integrated data warehousing incorporating data from JDE Financials, Pathway Property & Regulatory, Aurion HR & Payroll and Dataworks (ECS). Council can now plan to utilise the data warehouse for all inhouse reporting, being developed using SQL/Server 2008 Reporting Services.
